Managers in the context of small business growth: a qualitative study of working conditions and wellbeing

This qualitative study traces how managerial working conditions, job demands, and wellbeing evolve as small businesses grow through organizational stages. It applies Adizes’s lifecycle framework to interpret interview data, finding that the transition from the Go-Go to Adolescence stage consistently produces the highest managerial stress and work-life balance disruption.
